The Land of Rune
Races
There are five playable races in Shining; Human, elf, dwarf, centaur and gijinka. Any other race must be approved by the GM.
Humans, elves and dwarves are detailed in the Player’s Handbook, but the racial traits for the centaur and gijinka are listed below.
HUMAN
CENTAUR, RUNIC
Runic centaurs are descendants of the true centaurs that died out long ago. They are smaller than their ancestors, but more personable, if the myths are any indication.
CENTAUR RACIAL TRAITS
+2 Strength, -2 Dexterity, -2 Wisdom
Medium: As medium creatures, centaurs have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Centaur base land speed is 40 feet
Quadruped: Walking on four legs grant some bonuses.
+2 racial bonus to Listen checks.
Favored Class: Knight
Elf
DWARF
GIJINKA
The animal-like race of gijinka are a mystery to most of the people of Rune. They are born from parents of gijinka or human, but retain their own racial traits regardless of parents.
Gijinka have forms similar to animals of various varieties. Wolves, deer, hawks, even dragon varieties have been seen.
GIJINKA RACIAL TRAITS
-2 Charisma
Medium: As medium creatures, gijinka have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
+2 to Listen and Spot checks
Low-Light Vision
STRONG GIJINKA
+2 Strength
Strong Gijinka base land speed is 30 feet
Natural Weapons:
Favored Class: Fighter
SWIFT GIJINKA
+2 Dexterity
Swift Gijinka base land speed is 40 feet
Favored Class: Healer
TOUGH GIJINKA
+2 Constitution
Tough Gijinka base land speed is 30 feet
Natural Armor: +2
Favored Class: Fighter
Classes
There are two new classes to replace the pre-existing divine and arcane casting classes to better suit the theme of Shining; the Healer and the Mage.
The following pre-existing classes are recommended, but not restricted to, because of the theme of Shining.

THE SHINING LIGHT
The most common faith of Rune is the Shining Light. People all over the land worship the powers of positive energy and the ability to vanquish darkness, fear and evil.
Domains: Good, Healing, Light, Sun
THE DEEPENING DARKNESS
The opposition of the Shining Light is the very essence of evil, hatred, but ultimately, power. Power over everyone and everything. The Deepening Darkness, when tapped into will let you control your own destiny without rules or outside authority.
